A PS1 game looks way worse than a PS3 game, but a PS3 game doesn't look all too much worse than a PS5 game. I feel like the time period in question stops at PS1. Once you get into the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube generation, companies were getting their footing and games were becoming more consistent.
