...I've got a ton of post-System 32 arcade Sega games (the Model 2, Naomi, RingEdge 1 & 2, Lindbergh)
n the Teknoparrot is supposedly able to run not just Teknoparrot but much of these as weLL... but the thing won't even instaLL right. anybody have any luck/experience with this emu?

(btw if this is more emu-talk than Sega games talk - I'll move the post to the right place if someone points it out)

i'm up for some emu-talk. I like emus. They're great birds!

I've never had a ton of luck with installing Teknoparrot either, as the installer would always either crash or hang. I ended up finding a pre-installed version that's worked well for me so far.

@Segadude113 your wordplay emus-es me ::datadance lol

there are (what looks like) some good exclusive Sega franchises n continuations of existing series on these arc boards

ah I'll have to track that down - thank you Ranmya One-Staff (would be funnier if you *were* RGT staff... but as it is I'm assuming that part of your name is reference to a Takahashi creation?)

I had a ton of trouble getting it to work for me, but I did eventually figure it out. Haven't dug into the games I was going to play on it because I wanted to catch up with all the other games in the series first.
What's frustrating is at the time, the only place I could find help for my issues was a Neo Geo-centric forum entirely in French. Nice people, helpful, but running everything through Google translate made communication a bit difficult.

I'm guessing we found the same site then, as I got mine from a French Neo Geo forum too.

Nah, my name is just some gobbelty-glook I came up with as a teen and have been using so long that it feels weird to change it now, it's just my name now. :loldog

same with me. I've been 'prnzo' since early 1996 lol ppl who knew me IRL or online ppl who preferred to call me my real name obv didn't refer to me as prnzo, but as time went on more ppl referred to me as 'prnzo' or 'prnzokoshiro' or 'prnz' or even 'pringLes' lol I used prnzo on just about every format that required username with the exception of fake joke accounts (I troLL'd shoryuken.com harrrrRRDD back in the early 00's lol)

btw thank you for the link to the Francais tutoriaL (y)

I had teknoparrot set up once upon a time, not too sure how I installed it though. Not even sure how I got it working! But at least it did run most games I threw at it at like the Silent Hill arcade & all the Nintendo stuff.

The only problem I ever had with it was getting proper fullscreen resolution. But if you mess around with "Change high DPI settings" under compatibility you can also remedy that.
The emulator itself actually works, I swear!

Did you install it through the web installer or the manual download?

Sorry, can't help ya there Zega! It's been like 3-4 years ago, this page doesn't even seem familiar. I deleted TP & all its' games so I don't even have a trace of it left! I can only confirm that the emu does actually play the games. Best of luck everybody 🫡

The Web Installer has never worked well in my experience. I've never once been able to get it to complete installation without crashing or hanging.
