This is like a hot take thread, but you tag a person who you know that will disagree with your opinion!

(this thread is meant to evoke comedy and fascination, don't tag people who will ACTUALLY get mad and let's try to not the thread locked)

Freedom Planet is better than classic Sonic.

I don't dislike Freedom Planet (only played the first one), but it had a ton of problems and I never got very far into it. I really didn't like how the game had zero momentum or weight to any of the characters – I understand that they were trying to do their own kind of thing, but I didn't care for what that thing was. The story was also pretty embarrassing. If you could get into it, I can definitely see people having a lot of fun, and the music and visuals are lovely, but I honestly just dropped the whole thing a few worlds in and never had the interest to start it up again.

Yoshi Story is better than Yoshi Island.

Actually, a follow up, I prefer playing as MegaMan whenever I hop into MegaMan and Bass.
I don’t know if that’s a hot take at Fake or at the general public, because I don’t know Fake’s opinion on that. Mega in that game is just MegaMan 8 MegaMan. I like MegaMan 8’s version of the character. So I play him :)

Buddy… I think Sonic 2 isn’t great.
It’s my least favorite of the original classic titles.
I always forget the middle portion of the game’s levels and what order they go in because they feel so… whatever.
The game just feels unfinished. Like they had a good engine in place that is fun in a primal way, but there’s little to no meat on its bones.

Mate, this isn't a hot take at all, because I agree with you 100%. It isn't even a matter of me thinking Sonic 2 is the weakest Genesis one – I plain don't like the game. I don't think it's abhorrent, but it has loads and loads of issues that make me not enjoy it at all, which is so far from my view of the other classic Sonic games it's unreal. I've only ever beaten it with all emeralds once, whereas I've done that with all the other games countless times.

I actually love, of all things, the 8-bit version of Sonic 2. In fact, it's my favourite Sonic game on the 'Gear.

I have now met a person who likes Sonic 2 less than me who isn’t a downright hater of the Sonic series in general.

Well… it had to happen someday.

Still, I have to thank Sonic 2 for giving me my proudest gaming achievement as a child: beating the final boss with Knuckles.
Genuinely very hard to do and made me learn WAY MORE about the Death Egg Robot and how it works than I ever cared to know.

I agree in part. Sonic 2 has the worst special stages in a mainline game, but I feel past that it's an excellent game.

There are several reasons why it is a little unbalanced: the pace of the game grew substantially and it was made by a different team, so there would be growing pains. Those expecting Sonic 1 part 2 design wise would meet disappointment.

As for the 8 bit Sonics, they are mostly great, but I'd loathe the notion of playing on the GG (they are Master System games, only the U.S had this situation of getting only GG versions of some games).

Triple Trouble makes me happy and so does 8-bit Sonic 1.
