Floor796
A huge animation scene with many references to memes, games, films, series, anime, music groups
I wouldn't even know where to categorize something like this if I tried. But I stumbled upon this wonderful little webzone, that is just this absurdly massive pixel art collage made by, like, 1 guy! They (supposedly) update monthly, adding in more characters and animations menagerie. And you can click on anything that catches your eye in order to get the lowdown on whatever obscure references you don't get (some of them even have video links for better context of the memes on display).
And trust me, there's A LOT.
I see a Johnny Mnemonic poster, Prometheus and Bob form "Kablam!", Techno Viking, the 1957 Russian Snow Queen cartoon (there's actually quite a few references to Russian media, making me think the artist comes from there), the Interstellar 555 band.
Fucking, this guy:
It's a lot to take in, and I seem to find new shit to look at every single time a glance over it.
From the Site's FAQ:
"Floor796 is an animated scene showing the lives of characters from various works on the 796th floor of a huge space station. The animation is regularly expanded with new blocks (rooms) and characters from movies, TV series, games, anime, memes, etc. The project is being created by one author as a hobby starting in 2018."
