It turned out that OpenGL, while functional was akin to running on low frames yet everything was in sync. I switched to Vulkan and saw things improve drastically. But I kept running the demo scenes (The stuff that runs if you let it sit at the title screen or main menu for a bit) before I could start playing in earnest. Just in case things went south.
