I found a pristine PSOne in Facebook Marketplace for $15USD, laser like new.
The plastics look like new after a warm soap bath and a little Ethanol to remove a marker tag.
It looks exactly like the one I got at University to play all the games my friends busy with their PS2 lended me.
They could not believe I never played FFVII or FFT, so I had a good time getting high and playing games during the summers away from home.

Back to current day. Prices for originals are absurd, and no one chips PSX around this wasteland.
So I got a FreePSXBoot Memory Card from MercadoLibre (LATAM Ebay)
Now I just had to find CDRs. Had not seen a CDR for over a decade!
Not even my last 3 laptops have CD-RW Drives, LOL.

But my mother's office All-In-One paper weight (Celeron n3050) does have such a Drive.
So I set up my sights towards a bunch of CDRs that look cool, worthy of PSX games.

What was my surprise when I found "SONY PSX CD" looking CDRs.

They are "Ridata Black CDR, Silver Shiny".
The price is quite fair for black, completely clean CDRs, considering how good they look specifically for PSX backups.
50 of them were $350 MX ($18 USD).

It is a steal; the subtle joy of looking at 50 backups in shimmering "original" black, is also nice.

100 Discs go for $29USD!
The blur in the image is blocking a warning by the government of California (those Hippies! xD) regarding "Reproductive Harm".
California is very stringent with labeling of products that contain certain chemicals even if they are "believed" to cause harm in higher concentrations.
They treat Mercury like Enriched Uranium for example. So I guess some plasticizer in the disc is believed to "Turn The Frogs Gay".

I am not planning on reproducing, the way the world is, so I am fine with it anyway.
Maybe that is why they are so cheap in Mexico.

I wonder whether these available in your countries guys, let me know!

Regular CDR are fine.
I was just moved by the nostalgia, and "realism" of these discs.
The experience of picking up a rarely black CD to place it in the PSX tray...
Ah.. maybe I am just nostalgic for how "Futuristic" these PSX CDs looked.. not even the most exclusive, rarest Opera CDs of my Father were Black! xDDD

That is pretty cool. I use vanilla CDRs for my burned PS1 games, but it would bet pretty cool to use these and get a little closer to the "real" thing.
