Another Anniversary hack by Sophiedude, this time targeting Sonic 2. It features, among other things, improved graphics, a better sound driver, remixed soundtrack options, and a playable Amy Rose (in V4 only).

RB's Notes: While V4 is the most polished and has the most features, it will not work properly on every kind of device. V2 and V3 can savestate on the Everdrive X7, V4 cannot. Also V3 has a critical crash in Wing Fortress at the end of the zone. This does not affect emulators in any way.

Also, don't expect anything too amazing out of the restored zones (Wood Zone, Cyber City and Hidden Palace); they work, but are mostly barren and uninteresting.

Haven't played much of it yet, but V4 seems to work on the Analogue Pocket, but it gets very laggy at times in Chemical Plant Zone.

This Romhack reminds me a lot of the Improvement of this game that solved several errors in both programming and physics that only the most curious and observant players realized those details like this But with this Romhack of the 30th Anniversary is based on the Improvement version although it also has additions such as easy and hard mode, the possibility of playing with Knuckles and Amy, etc.

The updated music is maybe a hit or miss sometimes, but it's not a dealbreaker and i think this might be the best way to play Sonic 2 to date.

I can confirm that V4 works perfectly on the MiSTer FPGA/MiSTer Pi. Amy is a lot of fun & offers a new challenge to the game. This is probably gonna be my main way to replay Sonic 2 from now on!

So this is pretty cool. Tested it out for a bit and I really like the updated Sonic sprite. Keeps the spirit of the original look, but with just enough polish to improve it. Only thing I don't really like is the updated music for the act 2 and 3 stages.
