Surprised this one wasn't in the repo so I'm sharing it, honestly I prefer this version over the 16bit version, odd taste but I think the slower trajectory and fewer obstacles work in its favor.

Actually, the Sonic the Hedgehog ports of Master System that came out in Brazil are official because they were distributed by Tectoy for the Brazilian market.

I have never been a huge fan of Sonic Spinball. Stage designs feel a little too busy for my liking and the ATROCIOUS ball physics make this game WAY more frustrating than it has any right to be. Don't believe me? Play maybe a few minutes of Rollerball on NES and then this game. You'll get severe whiplash lol.

I fear for how much worse the 8-bit version is.

No, I honestly agree with you, in my opinion a much better Sonic pinball game is Sonic Pinball Party, that one I legit like, this game I was never a fan of, neither did I like the music, but in my opinion the "slower" SMS version is my preferred version, maybe because of the level design or the slower gameplay, it makes it a lot easier to control, also music is a lot better here than the Mega Drive version.

Honestly, the Master System version is less bad than the Game Gear version because it has a better field of view, which makes it more visible, but it has the same problems as the original version, such as an unstable frame rate, inaccurate controls, poor camera accommodation, etc. but the game's soundtrack isn't too bad to be GG/SMS.
