Although it's an official Blue Hedgehog game, it feels like a Sonic game that's below the Sega Mega Drive standards of the time and also that the Columns and Puyo Puyo already existed since then and also because it came out in the MegaNet line, which is exclusive to Japan.

I've always believed that this game wasn't originally meant to have Sonic and that it was intended to be its own stand-alone title, but I guess Sega decided to put Sonic in it in the hopes of increasing sales for the game itself.

Also on a side note, I'd rather prefer hearing Sonic Spinball music over the trash that's in this game, which makes my own ears bleed badly just from listening to it.

It was a Sega Channel-exclusive. I doubt the sales were a concern for this game for Sega.

Sonic Eraser is just a natural result of the franchise being so young back then.
