So ive bought an n64.

I congratulate you on getting the Nintendo 64 Friend 👏🏻. And in addition to being one of Nintendo's most iconic consoles of the 5th Generation.

Pretty much like others have said; consider looking into an Everdrive so you can get whatever you want on there. If you're adamant about wanting actual physical copies for decent prices, then I'll back up what @poppy_ suggested and recommend CeX. 6 or 7 years ago, I had a bit of a phase buying N64 games and CeX had pretty much what I wanted without putting a dent in my wallet. Only thing I will say is that their retro game selections are entirely second hand so you're pretty much at the mercy of whoever previously owned the games last so don't be surprised to get games with boxes in less than ideal conditions. eBay is also pretty good from my experience as well, and you can actually see pictures of exactly what you'll be buying.

Ayy congratulations! See if you can try and secure The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Even if it's just a loose cartridge. You owe it to yourself to play it. ::coolstafy

Goldeneye, Shadow-Man and Banjo Kazooie are all also very good in my opinion. :]

I don't know what defines 'stupidly priced' because everyone's financial situation is different, but I will say you're not missing out on much if you skip all the rental exclusives. (edit: if they were even rental exclusives where you are?)
I.e £100 and above is silly imo but that's just me 🤣 and I think so but I know nothing about rental exclusives other than the clay fighters one.

Good shout. I wasn't going to bother with zelda as I've got them all on the gamecube ( or at least most of them) due to having bonus master quest disc and the zelda bonus disc that came with mario kart dd. Was thinking goldeneye and banjo would be good.

everdrives are pretty awesome for playing on real hardware without taking out a loan. plus all the cool homebrew stuff. for official carts i would check out CEX since you are in the UK.
Ooh didn't even contemplate cex thanks for that.

Thanks all who said everdrive. I was thinking that myself. As for physical games, it's nice to have a few originals I think not bothered about cib or new or anything like that. My copy of super mario 64 is just the cart on its own used but it works and that's all I'm fussed about. I'm the type to get a sealed copy then open it to use it 🤣
