I give in to my impulse thoughts and order an OG Xbox controll port to USB adapter and connected my Duke to my Steam deck, it worked at first try, no issues. I even connected it to my desktop Linux computer and it also was just plug and play as you can see:
(Pardon me for linking my X old post, I just dont know how to host videos, and Im sure this web store is better spent in better ways)

I got this controller a couple of months ago and I love it, it is so silly, stupid and it even numbs my fingers if I play too much with its triggers. It is really nice for fighting games tho, the withe and black buttons are really handy.

If anyone wants to give it a try, this is the adapter I bought:

I had a Duke back in the day, I remember I really liked it.
I have no idea if I would still like it nowadays but if I ever see one on sale I might pick it up and see if it still feels as good as I remember...

Hot Take: tried once, never again

I am so used to Select Start being in the middle that i could never press them there, also the black and white buttons could be used as L1 and R1

I already have 3 Xbox OG controllers (jncluding the no-smaLL-hands-anti-ergonomix original model) n a Steam Deck. should I invest in this if those pads are no-issues for me?
