I am not sure why I bought them to be honest back then.I did watch the via cable Tv back in the day it was bearable some episodes more enjoyable than others,my humor changed quite a bit since then so I am not surr if I would be able to bare it nowadays 🎩🍵

Watching The Simpsons on DVD does give you one big advantage: "Stark Raving Dad", the episode that the showrunners pulled from future releases and Disney Plus due to buying into the lies of Leaving Neverland and its two scammers-cum-creators/stars.

Also, there's the fact the show looks way better in 4x3 fullscreen as opposed to the 16x9 format.

Stark raving dad is amazing lol i always knew id end up in the nuthouse when i got older. Ive lived that life and got out the other end. Police had to guard me cuz im insane.

I really want to own the ones that has this designs, so slick. Almost bought the lot on an auction earlier this year but chickened out.
Good thing they're still able to be tracked down and aren't ridiculously expensive! Those newer boxes with the corny gala artwork or the ones shaped like their heads are so ugly in comparison.

Regarding resolution, I should note that I have begun watching another show on Disney Plus which was remastered to 16x9, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which was converted to the new resolution for consistency with later seasons and its spin-off Angel. And I think Buffy works a bit better in a cropped 16x9 ratio than The Simpsons could ever do. The Simpsons is very obviously cropped and some scenes look much worse.

Nice!

I've always been one of the people that felt that Season 3 was when the show really started hitting it's stride, so many classic episodes.
Season 3 is great but it's so weird in a way because so many episodes go like weirdly hard on the drama and morals compared to both 2 and 4, which makes it stand out a lot. Not in a bad way at all, but it's interesting to observe it in a vaccuum.

I think s4 is the very peak mostly, it's like every single scene being a (sometimes several) super memorable joke the whole way through, though my #1 episode is from season 7 (Bart Sells His Soul).
