Ain't childhood wonderful? During that downright magical stage of our lives we got to come up with the most basic concepts and ideas and just run with them, because they made enough sense in our kiddie minds.

What are some of your favorite charming, yet hilariously wrong thoughts from that point in your life?

I personally remember thinking that history had happened in black and white because we hadn't invented color yet XD

I believed that I could be anything I wanted to be. So I wanted to be a game developer for Squaresoft. And then I went to college. That belief sure had a hard crash and burn, haha.

I still mess around with rom hacking and pixel art games so I've held on to my silly beliefs in my old age.

My aunt lives in another city 4 hours away from where i live so when i was 7 i thought that my aunt was living pretty much at the opposite of the world.

I also thought that if i pressed right on the dpad very very hard while playing sonic rush, sonic would run faster.

Playing we sky i went past a girl NPC that just at that exact moment showed a big red heart in a text bubble so i thought she fell in love with me so i stood by her side all day trying to talk to her and take her to a ski date or something. I think i have more stories about me trying to woo a videogame girl but i don't remember more at the moment.

I thought that if crashed at a high enough speed against the wall, it would break and go into peach's castle in mario kart super circuit

Also tried to befriend the npcs of harry potter and the chamber of secrets pc game by standing at their side and following them around.

Possibly thinking this one random NPC in the chinatown race in Road Rash: Jail Break on the PS1 was Paul Reubens as Peewee Herman, (since the NPC sort of looked like him).

When I was a kid, I had this conspiracy theory that cars weren't actually moving objects, but machines that changed the world around you when you got inside. You and your fellow passengers staying still the whole time. Travel times were how long it took to "load" the next area you'd arrive at, and the moving world outside the windows was an illusion or video screen. My father immediately defused this idea when he asked me "So why do you see other cars moving on the road even when you're not inside one?" Since then, I've stopped asking questions.

Other things:
  • I thought dogs ate cats. Why else would they chase them!?!?!? This one still makes sense to me.
  • I thought "Hanna-Barbera" was the name of a woman who drew all those cartoons. In my defence, the guys behind that studio have incredibly confusing names.
  • I thought "Europe" was its own country, distinct from places like the UK or France. MAYBE ONE DAY IT WILL BE, IF THINGS KEEP GOING LIKE THEY ARE... *studio applause*
Also, this isn't me, but my mom thought that people in Mexico spoke "Mexican" until I told her it was actually Spanish. I still don't think she believed me.

That you had to push your foot down on the pedal for the car to go forward.
For me it that just made more sense for it to work that way.

As a kid I used to believe the difference between fried eggs and omelets depended on how many eggs you used, rather than how you prepare them, haha.
Well, that's kind of true, isn't it? You need more than one egg to make an omelette, but only one for a fried egg. I'd say kid you was right!

Haha, I guess! but kid me believed no special preparation was needed. If you had more than one egg, bam, you got a magical omelet LOL.

I believed there were tiny people inside the TV.
It made me remember an old feature film I had seen, in which the presenter would come out of the television and interact in a certain way with a female viewer, who was very interested in playing those kinds of games together... 🐷
