I was so excited for Bleach: Rebirth of Souls. Bleach really needed a new console game and it LOOKED so promising... It's okay? Very limited lasting appeal, kind of forgettable once you realize how one dimensional the admittedly unique mechanics are.

But now... *sigh* Nen Impact. HxH has never gotten a good game, like... a REALLY good game. It was finally getting one. Arc System Works!? It sounds so promising, the game we needed! But... $60? Terrible single player content? Horribly dated visuals? Completely broken netcode? I didn't even mind the small roster, it's a QUALITY roster at least... but... but!

I just want a win. :(

Yeah I see anime games aren't really good lately (I don't about the how's the react on Dragon Ball games) but I guess the last good era of anime games is ps3 era I think.

That being said, sometimes there are actually good games to be released. Take Robocop Rouge City. Is it a good game...not entirely, but it is a fun game. I only mentioning it as it is on gamepass, and having a good time. Also Peter Weller reprise his role. That is a miracle.

my biggest issue every time they make a game based on anime it´s a fucking fighting game like why. Like when they recently made Hunter X hunter and it´s a fighting game why not a JRPG that follow the story of the anime or is a spin of story ??

Why must it always be a 60euro fighting game ?? I hate to say it fighting game so damn basic lame sure can be fun to play for 30-60 min then you just get sick of doing the same fights over and over again. Your telling me a short 1 hours story + getting your ass handed to you buy some uber no lifer in multiplayer is worth 60 euro fuck no.

It's the simplest way to sell the product based on attachment to prospective players' favorite characters and the possibility of fights between high-hype characters who only ever interacted in the background lore, if that, in any canon materials. Making a RPG of some sort entails designing many more enemy types than you would encounter in a fighting game, having to come up with more sensible excuses to make the player fight a named ally character, writing and implementing a lot of minor dialogue and a proper story, and creating environments that have geometry and connect to each other in sensible ways rather than existing as functionless background scenery. Low risk, low production costs, pays out regardless as long as it's not unfathomably terrible.

Fighting games can work if it's an original IP with its own lore and worldbuilding rather than throwing the most popular faces of an existing IP in a blender and calling it a day, or if it's something like Dragon Ball where the main character lives for the fight and solves all of his conflicts directly with violence anyway and everyone seems to come back to life eventually so a random tournament of the fighters in the cast isn't out of left field. There's so much more to Bleach than just fighting newly revealed enemies afaik.

I cant speak for everyone but the netcode for HxH is better than people give it credit for imo. I live in the midwest of the USA and have played with a friend from EU as well as SA without any major issues. Could it be better? Absolutely, but most of my matches with randos are also perfectly playable. When it is bad it is definitely bad but I wouldn't say its totally unplayable.

The Ninja Storm games and Koei Tecmo's Attack on Titan duology are pretty good imo. I think the biggest issue is that most of the time the games are just decent but rarely ever excellent. One Piece has a lot of solid games like Odyssey, Unlimited World Red, Burning Blood and the musou games but I wouldn't call any of them exemplary or anything.

if u enjoy the musou series theres ken's rage 2 that lets u play pretty much the original manga story (with some cuts/edits here and there)
