The Struggler
It's interesting how we as a species are strongly attracted to symbols for a variety of reasons: they allow for easy identification and memorization of concepts, things, places... their uses are myriad and endless. Of course, it's no different with games and we've come to strongly associate franchises and characters with symbols, be it because we like that particular IP or even the symbol itself on an artistic level.
With the preface done, I'd like to share some of mine with you guys, with a bit of background and reasoning for each.
Foxhound:
Well, Metal Gear is a cool series (for the most part) and I love canids. The symbology here is very strong and direct.
The Survivor symbol from Krush, Kill and Destroy:
A lot of you will probably not remember this one, but it's one of the many games following on the coattails of Command and Conquer during the RTS boom. That said it had a lot of interesting thematic ideas (post apocalyptic setting with a human, mutant and robot faction. The symbol belongs to the human survivors, and it pretty strongly suggests that they are rising again from the ashes to fight back.
The Abstergo Symbol:
I will be the first to tell you that I only really enjoyed the first Assassin's Creed game, but I really like the Abstergo emblem. Very orderly and well proportioned.
