I lost my PS3 a few years ago in house damage from a tornado storm.

My PS3 is doing just fine. Chilling right next to my 360. Taking bets on which one will die first ?. Both have been re-pasted and have fan mods so hopefully not any time soon.

My PS3 got the dreaded yellow light of death. It is a big issue that can affect some of the earlier generation of PS3s. It started by being slow to startup, then it would take several tries to start up and now it just stops, beeps and throws the yellow light instead of green. Apparently, being in warmer climates exacerbates the issue.

That's really rough. I had a launch PS3 that got the yellow light of death within 6 months of owning it. It caused me to swear off Playstation for a short bit, until my launch XBox 360 got the Red Ring...

That whole generation of consoles was cursed. Apparently there were some defects in the pins of the CPU/GPUs of those consoles that caused issues with overheating and failures. It lasted a good 10 years, so I guess I was luckier than most.
