What are some games that seem like cheap shovelware that you actually found to be good?

I remember The Fast and the Furious for PS2, the one based on Tokyo Drift, being surprisingly good. It was the first time I had ever seen car customization that in depth. Drifting physics were a little touchy, but made you feel like a badass once you got the hang of it. There was also an incredible sense of speed when you had a maxed out, 600HP beast of a car and just floored it.

I'm ashamed to admit I play the hell outta Bloons...

This game by Halfbrick Studio, despite the typical top down shooter setup
Age of Zombies is really fun, I love shooting those hordes of zombies

The Wanted movie tie in game (the movie where they bend bullets around corners)
50 Cent: blood on the sand
The Warriors

I had a good bit of fun with all of these

I actually never noticed it was made by rockstar lol. Never met anyone else who played it. Such a gem
Yeah. That game kicks SO MUCH ass!
The flick it's based on is pretty rad, too.

I bought it on the wii store lol it also disappointed me bc I thought I'd be able to tilt or aim the wii remote to aim and instead it was literally just the flash game with a controller.. I was in high school and saved a bunch of money to basically buy everything I wanted on the wiishop and ended up with a bunch of crap, that and sonic 4 were probably the worst of the bunch but at least I also got Castlevania Rondo of Blood and Final Fantasy 4 After Years wasn't bad.

as far as actual shovelware I am ashamed to admit it but on the switch I bought the Shin Chan endless runner cell phone game on the eshop and I've put a lot of time into it over the last few years lol

I really enjoyed Hero of Sparta, it came out on android and PSP. Sure, it was not God of War, but for someone who, at the time, played all GOW games and wanted something similar but new, it kinda did the job. It's no master piece, but it was a guilty pleasure of mine.

The Bay Transformers games are pretty good specially the Dark of the Moon one because is War for Cybertron But with infinite ammo and it's also a prequel to the movie altough the story doesn't add nothing to the plot

And speaking again of the Bay films games. Transformers Decepticons for the DS is easily the best of the bunch. It uses the plot of the first film but you are Starscream protegee and later you help the other Decepticons to find Megatron. Unlike the movie that the game is based on, the whole team of Decepticons have unique personalities and there's a lot of character develoment for example your character and Barricade form a relationship of master and apprentice. It's really cool, it's open world and each form has differents stats you can even be a helicopter!

There was something called "Dynamite Joe" that was obscure that I actually wrote the first review for it online (!). It was pretty fun for what it was.

Anything Gameloft for Dumbphones, but the one i loved the most must be Soul Of Darkness, a Classicvania with Metroidvania style, nowadays finding a fucntional Dumbphone version is harder with the time even "Luffy style" but fortunately there is the DSi Version
