From my experience and knowledge the clock capacitor its a must to be changed, it will for sure leak and it always leaks over some circuits that pass near the edge of the board and the console wont turn on or function properly. Up to version 1.4 if you have a modded system, you dont even need to replace the cap, just remove it, you can set time and date via network.
