I'm sure it's gonna run like shit on either platform but atleast the PS3 version will actually boot. (I don't have any xbox console fyi)

the pc should run on your pc, you shouldn't need an xbox for it. if you can get it on the ps3, then play it on that. either should work. i would go with whichever is easier.

My advice is that you should try (since there are many options like lowering the shadow quality and res) and ultimately a straight PC port consumes way less than emulation.

If it's bad then go for the PS3 version.

i'm not very familiar with pc specs. i can understand them better by watching a computer trying to run a game form a specific console. the pc should let you adjust things like the graphics and lower them enough that your computer would be able to run it. if not, then play the ps3 version.

PC for sure. It will be a native port instead of an emulation which will consume more resources. Also RPCS3 is very demanding on the CPU so I doubt you will be able to play it on it.

I would unironically buy a PS2 copy if I still had a working PS2.

I have an i5 8th gen, uhd 620 and 8gb ram but it does run well enough, sure you've got to bump the 3d resolution down and screen resolution but it does run around 40 to 50fps runs well enough for me, I don't know about celeron but you can try and test it yourself if you're curious

I honestly would try the pc recompilation, i've seen it run nicely even on potatoes like yours, also, have you tried looking at scrapyards? you can find PC's there that come from offices closing down, often with 4th or even 8th gen intel core i3's i5's and often some i7's, i even managed to find a GTX 470 that worked just fine in there, i mean, i don't want to sound pretentious, but more often than not people throw away perfectly functional PC's better than yours and you can get a nice upgrade for free, or just paying the pc at weight, which surely will cost less than a new or used PC on a marketplace or retail store.
Then again, idk how shit works in Venezuela, but maybe it's an option worth giving it a look.

I would recommend to give it some time. We’re in the release phase, and I’m sure updates by the team will come out to make the game even more scaleable.

Patience is often rewarded in this hobby. In the meantime, if you HAVE a PS3 and PS3 copy of the game… that’s been the one I’ve been playing. No shame in playing that version! And if anybody tells you that YOU have a problem for just wanting to play the game, that’s a them problem.

Unleashed PS3 is perfectly fine and playable. The PC port is a million times better. Unleashed is a fun but divisive game. Play the PS3 version first, to see if you even like the game, and if you do THEN pursue the PC port.

The only requirement my PC actually meets is that it has a 64 bit OS
So yes, play the PS3 version.

EVERY PC has a 64 bit OS, so that’s not much of a flex.

Give it some time for them to make it be able to be scaled down further. Keep an eye on the project, as I’m sure you will, and give it some time.

buddy, just play the ps3 version. it will work. you're dragging this out. even the most state of the art pc would have trouble running ps3 minecraft, let alone a sonic game.

Don’t be mean.

But yes. PS3 version is plenty good enough! It’s not the best way to play, but being able to play at all is more than worth it.

Again, take this from me. It’s the way I’ve played for YEARS. It’s plenty enjoyable!

Also, look out for that final section of Dark Gaia when you’re playing as base form Sonic. That part made me want to die.

i'm not being mean, but he keeps bringing up that his computer can't handle the game. i'm certain my computer can't either. it stutters sometimes while playing n64 games and gcn games. he has a physical ps3. he can play that version while waiting for the pc port, and when it's been smoothed out and fixed, it'll probably have mods for it, so he can do all sorts of crazy stuff with it.

Agreed. Time is a benefit! Sonic Forces, for example, has a ton of mods out for it now! But I remember back in 2018 or 2019 that its mod scene barely existed. Time has been much kinder to that game than I had expected back then, so yeah!
