I have a PS3 and I always wanted to try the home console versions of those games since I only played the portable versions, but idk which one to play first.

In all seriousness if you want to play Cars just play Race-O-Rama, this type of game usually only has small differences with the bulk of that being in Contents unless from a different generations.

Considering Race-O-Rama has the most contents pick those one instead.

I'd go with Cars simply because I was convinced by this review by Corax.

The 2006 game is practically a direct sequel to the cars movie, you get to explore radiator springs, help the townsfolk, race around the countryside and take part in the big oval-track races. The story is really charming and the overall feeling of the game is super cozy.

Race o rama has better driving physics, better customization for lightning and twice the amount of explorable locations than the first cars game, however race o rama always felt like it had less character than the 2006 video game (the soundtrack is definitely inferior). The new characters the game brought in are also less interesting than the ones from the 2006 game.

It comes down to what you prefer, if you want cozy vibes, a better soundtrack and want to see lightning mcqueen interact with the beloved characters from the movie pick cars the video game, if you want a better racing experience with varied locations and more customization than just paint jobs pick race o rama.
