I think Streaming has played a big part in this because risk taking isn't as prevalent as it was with traditional tv. That way they can maximize how much money it generates even if it's a steaming pile of doodoo, because at least you have millions of other things to watch if you don't like the new Captain America or Lilo and Stitch Live Action.
