A bad port of a bad game. To make matters worse, much like Terminator 1 on Genesis, the US release was not optimized to run at the same speed as the original PAL release. So the whole game runs about 17% faster making it even MORE difficult.

Was the BEST version of "Shadow Of The Beast", but.... well.
The Amiga version have a amazing soundtrack.

The music from PC Engine CD release is even better.

So it's a PAL first game? Interesting. I know on various US to PAL conversions of other games, the sound and gameplay is slower (Sonic comes to mind).

Makes me wonder why they didn't just make one region rom for everyone, and then the video output would just skip 1 in 5-10 frames for the lower framerates... Or just program TV's to allow both 50 and 60hz...

If it's tagged as euro, it's automatically PAL.

This is the only console conversion of this cult title so worth checking out.

The Master System and PC Engine had versions too, I believe. Ironically the SMS version is more playable despite the limitations.

Before streamers, before Twitch, before YouTube... there was Nick Arcade. Which is how I first found out about this game, back in the day

As others have said, it's a looker - and not much else! Made for a fine weekend rental, at least.

All style, very little substance. Still has amazing graphics and sound, though.

A classic game. And i mean that in the worst way.

You'd need quick reflexes, with a high arcade difficulty ramp and likely insta-death traps with no explanation of where you're suppose to go and no story in game of what is going on so you need a guide or to already know where to go.

As i said, classic. With about as much gameplay as those old tiger games (but is definitely prettier)
