It's curious enough to be true and that was originally going to come out in the arcade but was canceled not only because it was very similar to sonic eraser but also because of the low interest on the part of Sega in this game.

I remember this Mega Drive port having sound issues that were never fixed. I still got the world record for speedrunning it because nobody else bothered to play lol
