Now, this is not a review or first impressions or anything. This is me tryin' to raise awareness of a game that was an indie game before indies were a thing, and is actually getting a miracle port that I never though would happen! It is a metroidvania/action type game that takes heavy inspiration from Metroid Fusion and while rough around the edges I think really deserves to do well so MAAAAYBE there is a tiny chance for a sequel down the line or something else to be done with this IP! This release also has save states, cheats and rewind functions so IMO that will possibly ease the rough edges a bit.

Now, what I have to share for right now is the links to the platforms it will be released on. It will be released on Switch, Playstation (PS4 and PS5), and PC via Steam. It will be for $14.99 USD (going by the Switch listing.) and releases on October 10th, 2025.

I also have a little bonus treat for everyone... I posted in the Steam discussions a thread/topic that covers some backstory for this game that the manual had. I was able to transcribe it since I still own my copy from 2006 for the DS complete with game, box and manual. It is an interesting read and could potentially sell people on the game since it is an interesting blurb about the world building, setting, etc.

If this looks interesting to you at all I implore ya to buy it since it really is worth a try and for being $15 dollars I don't think it's a bad price at all.

Look like an OG GBA joint.
That's pretty coo.
Have to check it out later.

Damn I didnt know it was getting a port to pc, 15 bucks seems excessive but lets see

Interesting....still have my copy when it first came out. Fun game. Happy more people get a chance to play it now.

I saw Tech Dweeb talk about this a few weeks ago for his Dusty Game Society series. Loaded it up on my RG34XX. Haven't gotten around to playing it yet, but good to see more people are enjoying it.

I decided to watch the dweeb's video, downloaded the DS version and played it for a bit, I'm not sure if it's better or worse than the GBA version but I'm definetly going to play a bit more.

Yo what the hell, I JUST saw that video last night!

Also, I'm not sure how you meant that frog, but I enjoyed it since its release back in 2006 LOL
Also, GBA version is the better one for sound and i think graphics? but the DS version is just fine.

Also screw that final boss, ngl, that part is legit mind rending (figuratively and literally, play it and you'll know what I mean) but I think the cheats, save states, rewind, etc features will help because I know that's the part I had the trouble with.

This blew my mind, I immediately checked to see if this was an out-of-season April Fools joke, and my jaw hit the floor when I saw it was real. This is one of my fave games of all time and I used to be part of a little Twitter circle pushing for it to get a re-release or sequel, and now, all this time later, one of those prayers was finally answered.

This, Paprium is (somewhat) playable for everyone (cries in macOS), we are living in a truly wild timeline. All we need is a Spectrobes re-release/collection and the sacred rituals will have been worth it haha.

Wholeheartedly recommend this game.

I still have the physical DS version. I remember playing it for a few hours and thinking it was okay.

So, the game came out today and want to put small lil thoughts here.

Love the launcher, all the extras and whatnot. It's emulated, and has some tiny things thrown in but I think as a port it works. It looks amazing, and whatnot too.

I really recommend you give it a try even if you are not good at the game because you can use the cheats to help you. There's enough options too to customize the game and the small amount of achivements are nice too. Plus scans of the manual and some other stuff too.
For $15 I really recommend y'all go and play this because this is one indie game that IMO deserves the attention!
