This is a Rom hack of Rockman & Forte by Puresabe which lets you swap between characters at any time. Hold (Select) and press Jump (B) to swap between characters. Included are two Roms. "Rockman & Forte - Player Switching" is the original Japanese Rom. "Mega Man & Bass - Player Switching.zip" is the English patched version by Puresabe. Huh, I didn't even know there was a variant in the repo, I looked but totally missed it, the search functionality here while slightly improved is still difficult to navigate, but you are correct this hack is the same but does not have the multiple equipment patch.
Thanks for the confirmation.

Anyway, it's interesting for people who don't want so many modifications.

And, as always, I'm grateful for every Mega Man hack that appears here on the Repo.

PS.:

That being said, if possible, someday when it's convenient, adding the aforementioned "Addendum" to one (or both) of these hacks would be more than welcome. :)

Just one question, to be sure: this most recently uploaded hack version differs from the previous one on Repo ["Rockman & Forte (Player Switching + Multiple Equipment) (Hack) SNES ROM"] only in that it doesn't allow "Multiple Equipment," right?

Edit: I mean this one:

im down with switching megaman and bass. as make have the cds more easy to get now. it was desgin that way you have to two play throughs to get them all.

Very good! now I just hope that each year we get very closer to have playable Bass/Forte in Mega Man 8.

i saw a weapon switching wheel on a video showing how much each had & it paused during? it that native or another mod?

Awesomesauce!

It's how the game should have shipped, honestly, because Bass runs circles around Mega Man usability wise in the vanilla game, and I never found any reason to use the blue guy, but at least with this you get to enjoy the few pluses he brings without having to give up Bass' many advantages.

Never understood why people thought this game was hard. Maybe the GBA version played differently? I played the SFC version back in 1999 or something before we had a translation on the ZSNES emulator. I find Rockman 9 & 10 to be waaaay harder.
I completely agree, I didn't find it difficult at all, however I did play the GBA version first, in fact it was my first Mega Man, nowadays though similar to the Mario Advance games I no longer bother with the GBA version due to the screen crunch but I did beat it on real hardware.

A pretty good Quality of Life of being able to Alternate Rockman/Mega Man and Forte/Bass at all times and it helps something to curious more about the game especially in finding alternate routes in the stages and also the ease of getting the CDs. 💿

This version of the game (SNES) with this hack is definitely the best way to play this game. The GBA version's viewing area is smaller which is really bad given how difficult some of the platforming is in this game.
