I've never enjoyed Goldeneye 007 for Nintendo 64. I always thought it was kinda bland compared to other console shooters at the time (Turok,Doom 64 etc)

I got confused by your thread's name lol.
Also, I got no opinion since I never played Goldeneye 007

If you're confused basically what i'm saying is. Grab your torches and pitchforks because of me railing on it. Cause you know how everybody talks about how this is "one of the greatest games ever" Even though i clearly don't see why.

I already know what you're trying to say.
All I'm saying is that I have no opinion because I never played the game.

I barely remember playing it for a bit at a friend's N64... It was alright.

Turok - nice gore, but has bland environments, and a bland story. Good games though.

Doom 64 - uh its doom, no good story or narrative, but its doom, kinda been there done that. id rather play Brutal Doom today.

Goldeneye - good story/narrative that takes you to and from a variety of environments. Snow, jungles, military bases, etc. Strong multiplayer unlike the other two. Guns also felt recognizable, and closer to reality. The game in general was much closer to realism, than fantasy. The objectives kept the game interesting and thoughtful, it wasnt just get from point A to B, and it wasnt just blast everything.

Not gonna lie; "Goldeneye is kinda mid" is not a pitchfork-and-torches-worthy argument lol

Rare literally released "Better-Goldeneye" in the form of Perfect Dark, three years later. I think even the devs agree with you.

Perfect Dark was awesome!

I thought the 1995 flick had a better plot

There’s a NDS version of this game with Daniel Craig as Bond not Pierce Brosnan, talk about ruining nostalgia.

I loved goldeneye back in its day. I would definitely grab my pitchfork back then.

Nowadays I would agree, the game did not age well at all, and even more so compared to other stuff I played right after goldeneye, I simply cannot go back to it.

I even played the leaked 360 remake online with a few people. It was fun to play a few rounds for 5 minutes each, more than that was PAINFUL.

It's okay as a game. There's better FPS games out there though.

Let me guess, you also think that your smashed N64 controller was not your fault, but Oddjob's.

Its okay, everyone knows Perfect Dark is better anyway.

Huh, looks like you found some pitchfork buddies instead because seems like everybody agrees that G007 mid at best.
But can we talk about Perfect Dark? How many of you have played it on the actual N64? Because this game runs like garbage & in turn, feels that way.

Never was a goldeneye fan. If I had a crew of folks to bust out multiplayer with, then maybe? But any N64 multiplayer we did was Mario Kart and WCW/nWo Revenge, heh.

I had very little exposure to Nintendo in general in my life, so it's safe to say I never played Goldeneye. Eh, it's a FPS game in a sea of FPS games at the time. Can't say much about it since I didn't play it. I did play the Doom 64 re-release and enjoyed it, though.

Goldeneye is fine. Neither perfect nor terrible, it just happened to be a lot of console player's first exposure to multiplayer deathmatch in an FPS.
