Well, very soon 2025 will be over. December is upon us and that can only mean one thing: it's time for Christmas Lazy Game Reviews *ahem* I mean it's time for us to pick a game to play in the RGT Nostalgia Society!!

Christmas Eve Dance GIF

For the uninitiated, this is the club where we get together each month to play a game. Before the end of the previous month we allow the #gamers to nominate a game, then in a seperate poll thread we vote on the nominees until we've got a game.

There is only one major rule for nominations:

  • NOMINATED GAMES MUST BE AVAILABLE ON THE REPO AND YOUR NOMINATION HAS TO COME WITH A REPO LINK TO COUNT

We do this to keep things fair to everyone. Other than that, there are no rules about which game you pick. I'll nominate once the ball has got rolling a bit.

If you're curious about what this is all about, go check out the previous RGTNS months below:

RGTNS #1 - Parasite Eve
RGTNS #2 - Vagrant Story
RGTNS #3 - Einhander
RGTNS #4 - Shining in the Darkness
RGTNS #5 - Clock Tower Deluxe
RGTNS #6 - Pepsiman

Let's get thematic damn it!

FYI the nomination above me was for GUNSTAR HEROES. just so peeps don't have to keep clicking through to the link :L

UEI don't have a recommendation, but I have a very good one: why doesn't someone play Merry Christmas to all in Minecraft!

yeah we need more games that at least have some level of vague Christmas theming. Parasite Eve is a good example of that, taking place around Christmas (tho obviously we already did that one).

Anyway I'm nominating Snatcher. Always wanted to play it but never got around to it. We'll say the Sega CD version since it's the most accessible, but people are welcome to play whichever one they want.

Been meaning to try this out for years, and finding out it has a vague Christmas theme makes it even better.

I don't like Christmas... that said, I guess I'll point to something that has somewhat of a strong association with it.

Despite what it may seem, it is a very well done platformer.

My nomination is the classic Trilogy of NES adventures: Déjà Vu, Shadowgate and Uninvited. They are each less than an hour long, hence the triple nomination. They are still very playable to this day and have some very nice and easy retroachievements for those looking for a first mastery. The first one is a classic detective story, the second one is a classic fantasy tale and the last one is a ghost story. Unfortunately the Repo is missing the NES version of Shadowgate but the GBC version is available.

I’m gonna nominate this somewhat as a joke, but this game does have a Christmas mission so it checks out!

We're starting to get a health amount of nominations!
Poll will probably go live at some point tomorrow, so there's still time to get your nominations in.

Also, don't feel obligated to actually make it Christmassy guys. I did what I did for me ::winkfelix

this game is Kraze:

No Nightmare Before Christmas nominations? It's in the name guys!
NGL this was pick 2 for me. Either this or the handheld Nightmare game but I've never tried that one.

One day this will be voted for 🤞

If I'm not too late, my nomination would be the oft-overlooked gem, Silent Bomber for the PSX.

It's short, fast, fun and has a pumping 90's EDM soundtrack.
oh my god I haven't thought about this game in years. I remember forgetting what it was called and trying to guess the name so I could tell my friends what it was and I came out with "Millenium"...

Either way, you're not too late, I'm literally about to do the poll ::neku-jam
