Personally, I like the idea of doing this game for PS1.
It's simple to learn, more difficult to master, and a ton of fun. There are multiple character aesthetics and color palettes to choose from, but it's solely for cosmetic purposes.
It takes place on this randomly-generated grid-like dungeon, with cards randomly divided between players, which are drawn every turn and have different effects.
The whole idea is that you try to find treasure, the different items can also have various effects once identified by the merchant, and you can even get weapons and armor that increase your stats.
Every (round? Session? Idk) you have to get a specific target item, and bring it to the exit. That's all. But it gets more complicated when AI characters or other players get competitive and can come fight you to try to take your hard-earned prize.
You get to the exit with the target item to get your reward money. You can get money from other things too, such as getting in battles and collecting flags. Just because someone has the target item does not guarantee them first place, even if they get to the exit.
It's also up to 4 Players, but I don't know about how to get all that to work. You could just as well clear the 1-Player story mission and that would also be fun. But yeah, that's just another game suggestion.
