I think the movie's primary problem is that Street Fighter II isn't exactly major motion picture material. Too early in the lore, most of the backstories were just "I wanna prove I'm the best", not even the endings give much more insight. The manga and animated movie basically did their own thing, like this movie, but they did it in a way that made more sense, so to speak. In fact, I think when people talk about SF2 having a story, it's not the game they're talking about, but the animated movie, or the manga. One correction I'd like to make after reading through the thread: Sawada does appear more often than just the boat attack briefing scene. He's also in the scene where Guile is attacked by a cook who turns out to be an enemy spy, participates in the assault on Bison's fortress, and even gets to speak Japanese to a subordinate. [/QUOTE]
