Oh damn, that caught me off guard. That's incredibly sad. He was the best vocalist in Mastodon, and seemed like a really larger than life guy from the stuff I've seen of him outside of the music. RIP.

Looking a little into it, it seems it was a motorcycle crash where he got hit by someone. As far as I know there aren't much details on it yet. Really sad, man.

Crack the Skye is an absolute masterpiece, and Brett's vocals on Last Baron are the best on the album. I had no idea he left the band not that long ago, I guess I've been out of the loop on Mastodon for a bit.
