Rejected Replace arbitrary time limit to edit DMs with ability to add attachments to them

The 5 minute time limit to edit DMs is far too restrictive, and very arbitrary. If one thinks of something they want to edit, and yet the 5-minute limit has passed, they'd have to make a new DM, which has a chance at cluttering up the conversation with several extra posts that should have been just one. Conversely, I see no reason to prohibit ppl from adding attachments to DMs, as they can be very useful in illustrating their points, and they can serve as evidence when someone is making an argument.

Think about it from the other persons perspective. If 5 minutes have passed since you sent your message then the other person may have read it by then so your edit won't necessarily be noticed. And thus could potentially make conversations confusing.

As for attachments, try to see this from a moderation perspective... We respect your privacy so we don't read your DM's. And since they are not looked at by staff, that means attachments in DM's (which are files hosted by this website) can't be moderated, and are therefore not allowed.
