This one impressed me a lot, even as an adult.
Not only is this one of the most realistic flying games I have ever encountered, but the scope is just insane.
You not only get to create your own missions over a HUGE map that you can explore in its entirety, but you can also tweak every little detail about said missions: from the time of day they happen (down to the individual seconds!), to the forecast, to your fuel and payload, to your wingmen's fuel and payloads, to the ENEMY'S fuel and payloads, to the every other plane's waypoints, fuel, payloads and individual missions, to the surface and ground units reacting to your flight (from friendly AAA to enemy ships firing missiles at you), to static units you can try your approach on... it's just great. And you can even program your own mechanical failures to be triggered, for some extra flavor. You even get to write your own debriefings and record your missions to watch the footage afterwards.
Really, this game is hard to master due to some very realistic controls, but it's an absolute blast when you do.
Ever played it?
