I've noticed there are a lot of Eboots on the Repository and there is usually demand for PSX Eboots, which baffles me because I can't fathom how people would play most PSX game on a PSP without two analog sticks and L2/R2 buttons. I've tested eboots on regular emulators and often noticed quite a lot of soundtracks don't play thanks to the compression and maybe because it's looking up for cue files and the emulator can't find anything.
I've also noticed that there are quite a few games on the repository that are still eboot only.
My research hasn't given me any solid answers, so I'd like to ask; why do so many people still use Eboots and can they be effectively used with regular emulators? What are the advantages and disadvantages?
