How do you get rid of the green tint when playing dvds rgb? I know they had to put that in for legal reasons
I heard you can removed it with free mcboot?

Maybe. Or maybe not.

I'm not sure Free McBoot will do it. Free McBoot takes advantage of a bug in the video playback to get it to boot a game. Likely involves a buffer overrun.

One of the video standards for video is 565, or 5 bits Red, 6 bits Green, 5 bits Blue. So it's entirely possible it's the TV/Monitor is just decoding the green without shifting by 1, or shifting the other two by 1.

So go to the settings for video out and you might change that first, i don't recall all the output options on the PS2.

I thought fremcboot used the unused firmare upgrade function to install a cfw

Yes, it does utilize the memory card to override the launcher; But to get to that point it uses the DVD player component to jailbreak it to where you can install it.

I don't think FreeMcBoot changes the player, the player probably is still loaded up when you want to play a normal DVD, and it still uses the config file set by the launcher.

I could be wrong, i'm rather new to FMCB.
