I don't know what else you can say but this whole price circus is really getting on my nerves . Sometimes it is cheaper then suddenly everything is more expensive again, what's that supposed to mean? I think the manufacturers are bored and want to annoy the customer like that. What do you all think about this?

Its due to the recent and ongoing flip-flopping on tariffs by the American government. Its all very stupid and pointless, but it will cause prices of various goods to unpredictably fluctuate for the foreseeable future.

You don't honestly think this.

It's got to do with this on again-off again tariff business playing hell with the markets and plans that companies have laid out. Of course companies are going to try and get a little bump and handwave it away by pointing to world news. I don't agree with it because I've always been more of the philosophy of "stack em high and sell em cheap" for pretty much everything, but capitalism gonna capitalism.

Absolutely agree with what the others have already said - I'll add that once the US tariff issues either resolve themselves or we reach some kind of equilibrium, I'd be shocked if they don't leave them raised, of course.

It's the perfect opportunity for them, in a way. Far be it from giant corporations to be opportunistic vultures of course, but it sure does give them a convenient external reasoning they can't be blamed for.

Happened over and over again with grocery and gas prices over the last decade.

It's like you haven't heard about any world news for a month lol. Everyone in here is explaining why, so I am not going to repeat it, but if you want a cheaper console just get one from Aliexpress or second hand. Now I really don't know what else I can say :)

Guys, I know what's going on but it's still no reason to always play around with these prices . Sony does this because they know that people will pay for it and nothing more .

Not true. If they knew for certain that people would pay for it regardless of the price. They'd just sell them at the same price scalpers do. Since they don't, I think it's safe to say they aren't certain people will pay any price.

The cool part is, you don't have to pay for it if you don't want to. There isn't a single aspect of anyone's life anywhere that requires purchasing a playstation.
