Help Pokemon Snap RetroAchievements emulator

I was messing around with a few different options before I got one that actually took the photos and allowed me to send them to the prof. It is the Retroarch emulator (Which I hate) and besides problems with setting up controllers correctly the main issue I am faced with right now is the fact that no matter how many pictures I take of the gas sign of Koffing it does not pick up on it, does anybody know a way to fix this? I also have to get the other ones again due to a single button press closing the emulator mid game. Other people are getting the achievement too. https://retroachievements.org/achievement/70537

I got it after a few attempts snapping repeatedly and now the mewtwo one won't work.

Is the game registering that you've gotten the picture? Or is it just that the achievement isn't firing?

The game was not registering the picture. It took just emptying the camera over and over again to get it.
