Pirates of the Caribbean with Johnny Depp ?

Everyone knows these films , there are now 4 parts of it but in recent years it has become very quiet around this film title probably also because Jonny Depp was no longer there as Jack Sparrow. For me, Jack Sparrow was the character that made the film what it was. Without him, I couldn't imagine these films. But well, it's a matter of taste what do you think of these films and could you imagine these films without Jack Sparrow ?

Well that´s what we get when people believe lying muppets. It destroy other peoples lives.

Anyway they tried to make a movie with out Jack and it sucked balls so yeah with out Depp it´s better the show stays dead but then again Disney has not had any creative ideas for the past 10+ years so. Instead they do SHITTY live actions no one asked for.

I used to be a movie buff having watch over 1000 of movies of the years. For the past 5+ years I barely watched anything.

They are planning to milk this and every other franchise until the end of times.
So this will transcend Depp and any other actor after him.
All movies will be like 007. You may like one more than the other but don't get too attached to any one person.

I would argue that Batman as a franchise is flexible enough to have different characters.

I mean I prefer Nicholson's Joker myself.

On the other hand for PotC without him it will feel too different and making a reboot will probably be more plausible.

James Bond as a whole had that particularity. I think that the other simply cannot go the same way.

I'm a Hamill guy personally.

But yeah, having the right actor for a series of films is crucial to success of a franchise...people get accustom to it and changing it does kill the fan base A LOT!!! Same with voice actors. Tim Curry is notorious for appearing several roles throughout many series, but usually get replaced for some reason. Just can't imitate it. Also He is the superior Pennywise. I'll die on that hill. Same with Robin Williams vs Will Smith....hahaha

I was restricting myself for actors and not voice actors.

But if he was included then he's my favourite (especially in the Arkham games).

haven't seen the movies in years but remember liking the first 2 when I was a kid. I have however replayed Legend of Jack Sparrow on PS2 recently and found it to still be pretty fun. neat little co-op hack and slash with (I think) an original story. Depp reprises his role, idk if any of the other actors from the films return tho.

I would argue the first movie was perfect because it wasn't about Jack Sparrow. Sure he was very memorable, and raised the movie with his performance to legendary status, and he was an important character in moving the plot, but the real story was about Will and Elizabeth finding themselves in a middle of a pirate tale. When his breakthrough performance was so successful, they just made more movies as a vehicle for the Jack character, and he just hogged the whole story, they were inferior movies because of it
