My favorite Playstation 2 emulator has received a new update and it now works even better.

PCSX2 is a free and open-source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator. Its purpose is to emulate the PS2's hardware, using a combination of MIPS CPU Interpreters, Recompilers and a Virtual Machine which manages hardware states and PS2 system memory. This allows you to play PS2 games on your PC, with many additional features and benefits.

PCSX2 is without a doubt the Best PS2 Emulator for PC and also that it has evolved quite a bit over time and also that it is my favorite PS2 emulator.

Plugin based emus are such a pain to deal with, yeah.

The best PS2 emulator ever.
Not entirely perfect, but it's 100% functional.
I love how it's implement GameShark codes, control customizations, etc.
Playing Star Ovean Till the End of Time with cheat codes is just .
F those Battle Trophies though lol.
I don't care it's cheating but I finally got 300/300 Battle Trophies & I don't want to do it ever again.

I remember when it didn't support cheats or widescreen patches, or how about having to manually prevent screen shaking?

PCSX2 is amazing, has been for well over a decade now, in some ways it's one of the best console emulators ever made.

Before Duckstation, which is an excellent emulator. There was the epsxe, and in order to make it look as good as Duckstation does now (it never got geometry correction, so we're only talking sprites here and color saturation) it needed a now unobtainable file package and extension called "Natural Vision," shader or filter I can't remember which. For awhile that was the "shit," but seeing PSX games with geometry correction, proper fmv filters, and superior up scaling technology really is something else. It's almost like running a slightly weaker or tweaked Dreamcast.
