Help (PCSX2) need some help with GTA SA True Definitive edition

I saw the modded version and tried to play on my PCSX2 and to say it wasn't running great, I am using an i5-14400F and an RTX2080 and did try to run the game from an SSD and thought maybe that was the problem but it still stutters.

I am running on 1080p settings with multi-VU1 enabled since I did notice a better performance after enabling it but the stutter was still there and it only happens when loading into a new area, I don't recall this happening back with normal San Andreas but since this is a mod I am just gonna take a wild guess and say this is normal right? if not then maybe someone could tell what to do to make it stutter less

I run it on Batocera, which runs on linux with a much smaller OS footprint, and I'm running that game pretty flawlessly with slightly weaker specs.

Well my cpu is better and my GPU is worse.

PCSX 2.2
I already have problems with the nightly builds updating and ruining save states when I need them, I know I can always select no but i choose to stay with a stable build instead

i tried mix and match even precaching but still stutters when loading new areas

I would love to move there but most of my skills are in windows unfortunately but the interest to move is still there

OK, I just asked because people sometimes asks why a game is not working and they're using 1.6 ...
And about the save states, it will always happen, so good on you for staying in an stable version.

It doesn't happen far, just when starting the game (Where you pick the bicycle after the cutscene) It has these micro stutters at first when loading new areas but then when moving from one area to another quickly there are fps drop and I am not running the 60fps patch so this shouldn't be the problem.

Also I tried to start the first mission (where you visit the grave and then escape from the Ballas) and noticed stutters immediately before they shot the car and of course explode, then also seems to happen when generating effects like drifting with the bike or hitting objects oddly enough so I am not really sure what going anymore

and just to clarify I am running a fresh windows 11 thats not even a week old

The one I have is the true definitive edition but I didn't know they made a new update, the I have is ver2.3 and the new one is ver2.5

I'll give it try atleast since I am out of option but for the time being I am gonna go get some snooze and maybe a meal for tomorrow(too lazy cook for now)

Yeah some older nightly builds still struggle in rare exceptions. Usually happened with me in lesser known games like The Punisher.

It's not like that it's a very cut down linux kernal but over the top is a modified emulation station and all the emulators are built into it, it makes running several systems a breeze and as it boots without windows it gets all those resources that windows uses...you can basically turn any old PC into a retro gaming beast.

It's still PCSX 2.20, but it's the linux version.

alright good news after moving to the nightly build things seemed to have fixed itself, game is running nice no stutter whatsoever, also other games that I couldn't play because of graphical bug (Shadow Man 2nd coming) also works fine

now how do I shut this thread?
