Switch Paying for Game Upgrades is a scam and I'm tired of turning a blind eye to it.

I can give Jamboree a pass because the "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" actually has DLC tact onto the cost but I can't fathom paying for a copy of Metroid Prime 4 for Nintendo Switch then having to pay another $15 (Hypothetically) to get an enhanced version of the game for the Switch 2. Call of duty and sports titles were just as bad with this turn the Xbox Series consoles and PS4 to PS5 upgrades. Final Fantasy VII remake was the only game that was arguable for that system because of the Yuffie DLC added onto it.

The PS5 enhanced upgrades are only $10, but you get an entirely new game sometimes. Like upgrading from The Last of Us Part II to the remake isn't just a straight port. This is a better option than paying full price again.

To be fair, it takes development time to makes these upgrades. It's not just a switch that gets flipped. It can take months for these to get working.

i am not using as an argument, is a sad truth . I am not at all defending Nintendo, Sony or any other copyright holder. We live in a legal world, not a fair world. While a debate about the phrase would be interesting is not my intention.

Some games automatically ran much better on a PS5, for free, for example MH: World which runs at 60fps as opposed to 30 on ps4

the extra stuff for BOTW and TOTK seems pretty neat i guess? it all does look like stuff they probably done on the switch if they really wanted to though, excluding the enhanced framerate and resolution. either way i'm expecting, and not looking forwards to, having to pay £15-£20 each for the upgrade to the switch 2 edition :/

Yeah .... this upgrade-scheme is overall more a scam .

I can understand and agree for backwards compatibility with Switch1 games that run much smoother than on original consoles but the upgrade-thing is just a greedy move from Nintendo.
