I'm surprised that this hasn't been talked about (unless it already was and I just didn't notice it; in which case, I apologize for acknowledging it).
Basically, this hack aims to provide the "Sticker Star" experience that we should have gotten back in late 2012. In addition to redesigning the NPCs to be less generic, the battle system appears to play out like the first two "Paper Mario" games, Badges and Star Points make a return, and you now have a Chain Chomp partner.
(Not to mention, Kersti doesn't seem to be an insufferable brat like she is in the vanilla game.)

"Chapter 1" is slated to release next year.

As much as I'm excited for this hack (I was one of the ten people whom actually enjoyed sticker star for the most part), we all know Nintendo's waiting in the wings to strike. I suppose we can hope they don't care enough about SS, but who knows.

Sticker Star is awful and one of the worst games I've ever played, but this hack looks pretty cool ngl.

Looks really cool, with the way nint**do is. probably safer to wait like one more console gen before adding 3ds to the Repo, so we better get to patching whenever this comes out, if ,hopefully , it comes out.

Actually looks quite interesting and more like what we should've gotten the first time around. Still feel that disappointment I did when I first played it, and I still have no idea what Nintendo was on with Sticker Star. Yeah, let's make an RPG where every battle is actually pointless outside of boss fights and is an actual hindrance to the player

Yeah, there were so many strange and baffling design choices with the vanilla game. Probably my least favorite aspect were the boss fights themselves. You're essentially given two options: Use the correct Thing Sticker (that the game doesn't even tell you which one you need) to insta-kill the boss or spend an ETERNITY chipping away those "300 HP" life bars and possibly hurting your thumb from pressing "A" about a million times. There's NO strategy, whatsoever. And that's not even the worst part!

If you decide to defeat the bosses without using the correct Thing Sticker, Kersti has the AUDACITY to pop out and condescendingly tell you to "try a little harder." So the game rewards you for cheating and it punishes you for not playing along.
