Overrated "Classics"

You're all wrong. I have played every single game mentioned in this thread and they're all good and not boring or bad. You all need to sit down and play Sonic 3 & Knuckles all the way through three times before you post in here again.

To be fair Overrated does not mean bad. Majora's Mask is still better than most adventure games nowadays by its charm alone but i just don't find it enjoyable.

Also Sonic 3&K is peak and anyone who disagrees smells.

Yea if you like a Sonic game that rehashes the same level motifs from the previous games. Now thats a Sonic game thats overrated. Its the Ninja Falcon Ultrazord of Sonic games.

Blood. It's around the top of every recent boomer shooter tier list, and is easily the most flawed of the holy trinity. Relying on hitscan enemies annoys me, but at the same time, they're the only enemies that ever hit me in it. If enemies need to navigate any environment to get to me, and it isn't perfectly flat, they're never reaching me.
I played it, and that was after being exposed to modern RPGs, i mean i liked limit breaks and the summons, but moving around the map in the earlier stages of the game felt maddening and i honestly didn't get where all the hype came from.

I like OoT, is not the greatest Zelda game ever (IMHO the title goes to Breath of the Wild) but it still can get entertainmet squeezed, especially in the Redux Patch

But i can't defend Twilight Princess

The game feels like a great step down of the posthumously popular Wind Waker in terms of graphical and mechanical terms, i mean the good:

Midna my beloved (Imp form, i don't care for her true form)
Wolf Link is fire
Argorok is an epic battle to make up for its shitty dungeon (A dragon fought in a storm with a clever puzzle battle? YES!)

But there is still sore spots that make it not as good as i remember it:
Wolf Link looks hard, but the combat is simplistic
Overworld is empty
Even the Wii version has that Mexico filter i dislike of 2010 gaming
Tutorial is SLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Lack of variety in combat, yeah you can learn new moves from the Hero's Shade, but considering most enemies can be dealt mashin Sword, it barely matters
WHERE IS MY MAGIC BAR GAME? your back cover promised me one
It abuses of fetch quest like hell (Oh joy, another mandatory Lanayru tear gathering)
With the eception of Zant and Ganondorf and the aformentioned Argorok, the bosses are too basic
Whoever had the idea of making Heart Pieces a drag by making them a five per heart must be buried in the sand and laughed at...after being shot

I get some fun of it, after all it's the game that came with my Gamecube, but nowadays it has started to show its age, to the point that i legitimally enjoy Skyward Sword for at least trying something new

If you excuse me, i am going for some shelter groceries, ¿Anyone wants to join my bunker?

Sonic games. I will not elaborate.
I am saddened by this because I really love Sonic Adventure 2 despite its flaws and annoying gameplay segments (treasure hunting and mech stages). I also beat it twice. But I fully understand because sonic games always have sudden difficulty spikes, annoying means of progression, or the most annoying 100% requirement to finish the game and see the ending. SA2 wasn't that bad, like it was, but Heroes I never finished because this one is just egregious. You have to beat the game with all 4 and collect all 7 chaos emeralds. Except all 4 teams replay the same exact 20+ minute levels that sometimes take almost half an hour by the later stages, and collecting the emeralds in the special stages are absolute hell. I just find it odd that after SA2 all sonic games just had to have this annoying requirement of 100%, the advance games on GBA are worse, Sonic 06 did it as well, and then Shadow the Edgehog had it worst.

They are not the exact same levels. Team Rose levels take 3 minutes to finish because its the easy mode. Don't complain about Sonic Heore's levels because you don't know how to finish them properly.

They are not the exact same damn levels. You're BS because Team Rose levels take 3 minutes to finish because its the easy mode. Don't complain about Sonic Heroes's levels because you don't know how to finish them properly.

- Literally Every "Classicvania" (except Bloodlines): Bloodlines is the most fair and honest. Short but fun and the learning phase is smooth and consistent. Playing as Eric, that's pure ethical gaming right there. However, 1 and 3 are full of Mario Maker troll level BS. 4 starts great but quickly devolves into "bad hard" trickery. Full of slow autoscrolling sections as well. Dracula X really runs with the troll level design. Chronicles will put you to sleep before Belmont can even slither through level 1. I think it speaks to how low standards used to be, how these games are held at such high regard, when ALL of them are shit.

There are people who can get through these games without getting hit once. I don't know how they do it. I beat the PSP version of Rondo of Blood and it's a trial of errors for sure. A lot of spamming Maria's genbu on bosses. Richter is hell mode. Unlike the metroidvania games there's little room for error or beefing yourself up in the old ones. You need to memorize everything. That said, taking a Castlevania approach is how I finally beat AoL.

Dunno what that has to do with what I said but OK

And that's not even to mention ports of DOOM and Wolfenstein (which are worse than their computer versions of course but still play better than Goldeneye), or games like Golgo 13 which had first person shooting segments mixed into other gameplay genres.

Just cause there's worse doesn't make Goldeneye better. It still has sluggish framerate, unsatisfying and unwieldy controls (in part thanks to the awful N64 controller), and overly complicated and oversized maps for 4 players. If it was really good, we'd be able to pop it in and go for another six hour marathon with our buddies 20 years later.

I challenge YOU to find three people who can play it for more than 30 minutes to an hour before getting bored or sick of the controls.
Like the guy said before: It's not a great game, we were just 11 years old.
