PSP One of the PSPs I own is on Pro C Infinity, should I bother changing it to Ark-4?

So a friend has requested for a modded PSP, I found one, in good working condition, it's just that it's on Pro C Infinity, and not Ark-4.
I'm pretty new to PSP and modding, and I've not used a PSP with that CFW before.

Is there any reason to change over to Ark-4?
Also it seems like the PSP is running a little slow (in loading the cxmb especially, takes 5s or more), I'm not sure if it's the CFW or the memory card.
I was thinking it could be the memory card (it's a random no-brand memory card), but I'm not sure if it's safe to swap over a memory card from a PSP that runs Ark-4 to this one to test.

Sorry if the questions are kinda nonsense and noob-ish but thank you for taking the time to read/help!

It could be the memory card.
It could also be the number of plugins, try disabling all plugins and see if it improves.
The speed also depends on the clock speed, if you overclock it will be very quick if you underclock it will be unusable.
I don't think the CFW will make a difference in XMB speed, but it could fix the issue, not because the CFW is faster but because something else that was causing the slowness changed (a setting, a plugin).
That is, if it wasn't a hardware issue like the SD card.

There have been little reason to update firmware since like 2013 in the 6.60 Pro-C days.

I agree with what spike said regarding the slowness on the XMB. You can check the clock speed and change it to 333Mhz for the XMB if its not that value. But if the memory card is old and seen some use, sometimes copying everything to the your PC, formatting the card on the PSP and copying it over improves the speed.
Regarding the update to t CFW, i think its worth it. Pro-C works well but it stopped beeing update with new features etc. ARK is currently beeing updated and it comes with a few new features. In the github you have a complete list of the features ARK has:

Fantastic tips, thanks guys! I'll
  1. Check the clock speed if that doesn't help
  2. Format the card or replace it
I'll report back!

WELL i plugged the memory card into my pc and after like 5 mins the whole thing got corrupted so i stuck it back into the psp, formatted the card and the psp is now as smooth as butter <3 thanks guys

Also another set of questions for my 2 broken PSPs, if anyone here knows the answer:

  1. PSP turns on for a bit then powers off after 5 seconds, after that can't power on for a while at all
  2. PSP does NOT turn on at all but when a battery is inserted, the green light flashes for a bit, does the same when the charger is plugged in.
for problem 1, i'm assuming it is the super capacitor?
for problem 2, i'm absolutely lost on what it cld be
