my sibling got a new ipad and they gave me their old one, very nice!! i decide to look for an open world game to play on it since i dont have space for one on my phone + they dont run well at all. i find infinity nikki. its very new so i dont have high expectations. i wait hours for it to download, it finishes, i play the intro, its shit but it works! then it starts to load the actual game... it crashes. i try again and again but it just keeps crashing and im so devastated i was excited to play.........

Tech usually moves quickly, but that doesn't mean it's completely useless. If your goal is to run newer apps and games, you'll have to lower your expectations a little, but for older apps, games, and browsing it should work fine. You could also try to modify the iPad "jailbreak", but that's not something I think I could get into here.

Cant you install MelonDS or ScummVM on it and play all those visual novels and point and clicks with the tactile screen?

Seems to me the tactile screen is the better fit for games of this kind. If you got a stylus you've got Nintendo DS's bigger version.

I've checked your game Infinity Nicky and tbf I wouldn't touch that free to play with a ten foot pole, even if they got the latest AI generated fan service.

I'd recommend emulators as well.

I remember being quite amazed by the fact that I could run a Nintendo DS emulator flawlessly on an eleven-year-old smartphone.

For as crappy as some devices are, they are still leagues above the basics specs for that sort of thing.

Curious as to how much space is on said ipad? Probably why it's slow (also it might be running a newer iOS that's too bloated for it idk)

The Apple Ecosystem won't generally let you install anything they don't approve. Also their products are two or three times more expensive then they have to be, and they are anti-self-repair so you can't fix it even if you have the means.

My recommendation is not to get apple products period.

there's more than enough space left , 70GB

dawg 70GB is literally nothing if you're trying to install games on there 😂 honestly old ipads are worthless since some of them are harder to jailbreak, just sell it and get a laptop instead, at least you can actually play games on it lmao
