I'm sorry to start a new thread, but what has everyone's degree of success with original Xbox emulation been like? I've tried Xemu (allegedly the most complete emulator at this point), and it keeps crashing or refuses to run most games. I've gotten it to run Ninja Gaiden Black and Jet Set Radio Future, but it's still susceptible to crashing. Stuff like GunValkyrie and Phantom Dust doesn't run at all. I think the only game it's run from start to finish is Panzer Dragoon Orta, and not too well.

Are there better alternatives?

This is the setup I have had mostly success with:

I saved this from a site when I was getting mine going:

its a good idea to keep all of the available bios files and find out which one works better for what games. I tag all of my games with the bios number that plays it in the file name for simplicity as well:
Phantom Dust (4134).xiso.iso
Bios 4134 that you can see i use above but 4627 is my usual. Mind you i still have games in my unplayable folder... :(

Hope this helps.

I got my bios files from various parts of the internet and I've had no issues with xemu. But I don't emulate with xbox much because og and 360 are janky right now even the dev build of xenia isn't reliable and it's better than the regular build. CXBX Reloaded is good too, it plays the game files instead of the iso itself like xenia. But it doesn't have the compatibility that xemu does. New gen emulation is still in its infancy. Shad PS4 is looking good and a few games are fully compatible now, Tales of Symphonia Remastered plays great.

Right now I've got Bloodrayne, JSRF, and Blood and Stone. All work perfectly with the files I've got.

Thank you so much! I'll give this a try
Well, i was gonna to throw my 2Cents in, but @middler Pretty much gave you all the info you need.
And yeah OG Xbox is still crunchy when it come's to what games will/Won't work on it.

Of course alot to do with you're system GPU ect ect.
best thing to do is just check the Xemu compatibility list, and see if any tweaks for said game are needed

I Got DOA 3 to run <fine aside the the cut scenes are abit choppy>

I'll leave this here

Xemu is the Xbox emulator at this point primarily due to its overwhelming compatibility with most Xbox games. That being said, it's not perfect. What kind of hardware are you running?
For me, I'm running a Ryzen 5 5500X with a GTX 1660 Ti and 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and pretty much everything that doesn't have issues caused by the emulator itself runs perfectly fine.

shame there is still so much distance between ps2 and ogxbox emulation

wondering how many years until a perfect Project Gotham Racing 2 and Forza Motorsport emulation
atm both seems the most unreachable

Project Gotham Racing 2 works just as fine with latest Xemu version

Project Gotham Racing 2 works just as fine with latest Xemu version
is it still reported extra slow ingame (with cpu cars) on a 8 core PC

" The menu works fine without any audio or video glitches, same thing as the garage and the showroom.
On time trail the game is mostly fluid except for some stutters but with CPU cars it is still unplayable having an huge framedrop.
The graphical glitches on the track and on the shadow of the car are finally gone."

nice to see improvements btw, i'll try again on my config
