Extremely Weird And Obscure Games

If you like point-and-clicks with FMV and horror, then I would suggest Phantasmagoria. There are some "odd" moments to say the least!

I love Akatsuki Blitzkampf, It has a really cool style and aesthetic, I main Murakumo in Ausf. Achse. I'm still waiting for that pc port.
Also Akatsuki is my main in UnderNight

I haven't touched fightcade since that one day I got absolutely BODIED on 3rd Strike. Those guys are cool but I don't think I'll ever get to that level.
Anyway, as far lesser known fighting games I like, first there's Advanced V.G. 2! I started that series as a joke but I ended up having a lot of fun with the second game.
Second, there's Gundam Wing Endless Duel for the SNES. It is *actually* the best fighting game on the system.

I can only really say, that after playing ~6 point and click games i came to a conclusion. I hate point and click games. Eventually it devolves to 'click everything on everything'.

I haven't really encountered much toxicity on fightcade, but when I have it's always been in SF3. The smaller lobbies tend to be more chill when you can get games in em, and going in with friends helps mitigate a lot of the tilting

Fightcade is awesome, most of the people on there are too pro to care about talking shit.

I came across someone playing Zangief that I couldn't land a hit on, and after about 3 games of getting perfected I just gave up the game for awhile.

Not out of rage, more out of self-disappointment ?

Even if i wasn't a hardcore fan of any of these animes (i think i have also only seen Dragon Ball Z at the time) I remember having a lot of fun playing this game on the PS2 with my school friends. It was kinda like a platform fighter but with a weird health-point system. I don't now if is actually that good but i have a little bit of fondness for it :3

Folklore
Heavenly Sword
Puppeteer
Eternal Sonata
Splatterhouse
3D Dot Game Heroes
Tokyo Jungle
Lollipop Chainsaw
Shadows of the Damned
Alice Madness Returns
The Unfinished Swan
Killer is Dead
Tornado Outbreak
Dark Sector
Resonance of Fate
Earth Defense Force 2025
Dragon's Crown
The House of the Dead: Overkill - Extended Cut
[PROTOTYPE]
The Witch and the Hundred Knight (WARNING: CONTAINS A BUG THAT CAN WIPE YOUR SAVE DATA AT ANY TIME! JUST PLAY THE PS4 PORT AS IT DOES NOT CONTAIN THIS BUG!)

Eternal Sonata - improved port of the 360 game
El Shaddai - weird but awesome
Enchanted Arms - another 360 refugee
Resonance Of Fate - not exactly obscure but very forgotten
3D Dot Game Heroes - also oft forgotten
Record of Argarest War - people remember the "Very Naughty" 360 release...
Viking: Battle for Asgard - almost never mentioned
Lost Dimension - truly lost...Bah-Dum TISH!
Tears to Tiara II - so obscure I forgot I own it...
Remember Me - no, I forgot you for YEARS, then I bought you and you sat on my shelf since.

Oddly, just about every list on the internet for "Obscure/Forgotten/"Hidden Gem" PS3 games includes Folklore and Dragon's Crown. If everyone mentions these two games specifically, then are they really obscure?

I see people had already mentioned Under Night/Melty Blood (arcsys fighting games never miss ::blush)

....so I'll recommend Fighters Destiny for the N64.

Unique point system, fun stages, and once you get the hang of it It's very hard to put down in my opinion.

second this, I played this game and had a great time with the small bit I played, was surprised to learn it's basically the spiritual predecessor to toy fighter since I was already in on that one

This game has some banger character designs.
any game with a good witch design gets an A+ in my book, and Remi is an AMAZING design

Asuka 120% limited and its "hack" limit over, while the ps1 game has been already mentioned, I tend to prefer the Saturn versions better sprites and more responsive controls.
I don't know if you could consider the snk last blade or Bakumatsu Roman games obscure, but I love the slower more methodical style of of play(every hit count).
Advanced Variable Geo 2, I love a cheesy over the top anime fighter once in a while.

Drakengard 3 is STILL a PS3 exclusive as of 2025 despite the success of Nier / Automata.
It is kind of crazy none of the drakengard games are accessible outside of emulation nowadays.
