Extremely Weird And Obscure Games

Briefly had a small circle online, with some Kaillera-compatible MAME forks, to play Rage of the Dragons and Matrimelee. I don't think anything on the NeoGeo is all that obscure but that was the only time I found competition for those games, at least.
I've played a few rounds of rage of the dragons with people, but it's a bit rare, and I was lucky enough to play matrimelee with people a few times, one in a mystery wheel tournament. I really love those games

My PS1 era guilty pleasure.

Oh, I just remembered. For a little while, Daraku Tenshi had a moment in the servers I haunted. That's a lot more obscure, good lord. Surprisingly fun game, though?
I learned about it from my sister playing it with friends, haven't had a chance to play anyone in it myself though. Really like what I've played though

Bloody Roar and Psychic Force are my go-to obscure fighters. The Spawn game for dreamcast too, though that's closer to an arena fighter with weapons etc
Hey, arena fighters still count in my book! Love the rare opportunities I get to play power stone online.

Rakugakids - solely because I love the cast and the soundtrack. It's got a little spice to it - but it's not something I'd try to rally people into playing.
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom on the other hand...hey - she ain't exactly 'obscure' but she was also sorta DOA and it's such a shame.
Because it's genuinenly better than UMvC3.

Advanced Variable Geo.

Even though the second one is the best one imo, I have a soft spot for the snes version.

And Asura Busters of fuc...g course.

I wish I could find someone on steam to play Million Arthur.

Golden Axe the Duel.

Groove on fight.

And that heroic fantasy tag game which was ported on ps3 and which name I always forget.

I never got to try rabbit, I think I saw the saturn port on cdr.

I've been trying to find someone who could keep up with me on Ehrgeiz for ages so I can master the interrupts.

Maybe only obscure in the USA since it didn't release here, but I used to play this a lot when I was first getting into emulation around 2000/2001.
DBZ was huge in America at that time and it felt so cool to play this "lost" dbz game from the SNES on my computer!

I don't think Heritage for the Future is *that* obscure these days at least among fighting game enthusiasts but I don't know anyone who knows of it and isn't super into retro fighting games
Mighty Morphin Power Ranges The Fighting Edition is one of my favorite fighting games of all time and I'm sad more people haven't heard of it

Really inventive meter mechanic combined with great animations and a fun character roster

This is why it's a masterpiece:

I find this game magnificent even for non-Jojo fans.
