What a curious news, do you remember NullDC?
It was almost a lone choice for a reliable Dreamcast emulation back then, expecially if on a potato PC.
Well, seems that is getting new updates!
I haven't tried it yet, this is the builds download page :

i feel younger atm :)

Whoa. What the heck. this was the first viable DC emulator way back circa 2008 that ran most games at acceptable framerates on mid-range hardware of the time. Such a massive upgrade from Chankast.

To be fair, resurrecting it now is kinda pointless especially since the current premier emus started out as NullDC forks iirc, with the exception of DEmul which has been inactive for quite a while now itself. What are the devs gonna do, reinvent the wheel almost 20 years after the fact?

With that said, while I probably won't use NullDC in the foreseeable future I still wish the devs all the best in their endeavor.

Speaking of the devs - is it the original crew or is it some newcomers that got their hands on the source code and decided to rock n roll with it? I don't particularly mind either option but I think it would be that little bit more legitimate if it was the original team.

The emu got a discord server:

Too bad it doesnt have a github.
Official Github page ::winkfelix :

mostly original team :)

...Chankast, it brings me memories when I first tried emulating on it before switching to NullDC hahaha!
lol, liked Chankast, exp it used real cd;
the video output was imo great, with that a bit dirt and antialiased effect, it seemed to play on a tv more than on a monitor

NullDC old versions also had the Chankast video plugin

I'm thankful that Dreamcast emulation has become much better.

I'd be tempted to redownload NullDC if the update is good.

By the way: is ReDream really good?

the first new build doesn't work on my PC ::warcraft-skeleton, i'll wait next releases

yes ReDream and Flycast are surely the best choices atm, i use both; maybe more Flycast as you can customize many gfx settings, i.e. for some homebrews.

I know Flycast doesn't work on some PC's, expecially the last releases, v1.x to v2.0/3 were imo more compatible also in not fresh new machines
