Seeing Osaka return in Yotsuba, and as a teacher nonetheless (thanks Chiyo), was beautiful. She made it despite her problems, It shows that we can all achieve something in life if we try hard enough.
The thread on /a/ reached over 5000 replies before getting archived: people shared stories of they fared in these last 20 years, and even if it was for only a couple of days, the culture I once thought lost returned, a ray of sunshine piercing through my jaded heart.

Wait, there's a sequel to Azumanga Daioh! that's going on in Japan?

Yotsuba is one of my favourite manga of all time. It really reminded me that there's so much wonder and love in this world. While Azumanga made me miss highschool 5 times more than I already missed it, Yotsuba put this indescribable feeling of hope and happiness in me with every chapter. If there was ever a manga I wish I could read all over again, it would be Yotsuba. From it's charming characters, to its breathtaking artwork, to its thoughtful and heartfelt message. It's truly something else.
Enjoy everything.

I've never read Azumanga Daioh... I've only got to watch a few episodes of the anime whenever it was on. I remember there was a girl there who'd always try to pet cats but they'd always bite her. And a particular meme... LOL!

If you've ever got the time, I'd recommend doing both. The anime adapts some of the manga but there's parts it leaves out that are pretty funny in my opinion. It's a pretty quick read though overall and it's a good laugh

Will do... I've always been intrigued by it. curious though, Is there an over-arching story as a whole or is it just a collection of standalone stories that overlap as it goes?

The anime definitely has some parts that feel like it's an overarching story, but really it's just a comedy slice of life
The manga is majority 4koma, which means it's just funny 4 panel short comic strip, they're connected but it's kinda the reason why it's a light and fun read

Yotsuba and Azumanga Daioh are both classics so it's great to see Osaka make another appearance! Who would have thought that Yotsuba would have met Osaka?

There is no story. It's just skits about high school girl doing funny and insane stuff, It's a comedy.
