"Nobuteru Yūki (結城 信輝, Yūki Nobuteru, born December 24, 1962 in Tokyo) is a Japanese manga artist, illustrator, animator and doujinshi artist. He has designed characters for manga, anime and video games, and has frequently collaborated with director Kazuki Akane, including on his most famous work, The Vision of Escaflowne."
from Wikipedia

He also worked on Record of Lodoss War, another fantasy themed anime and a personal favorite of mine.

I've been researching Seiken Densetsu 3 for one of my articles and ran into Nobuteru's concept art for that game. I wanted to share some of it because it is extremely gorgeous and I probably won't be able to fit much of it into my article. Also check out Record of Lodoss War or Escaflowne if you haven't seen them. Here it goes.

My first english patched game ever :) Played on emu on pc. One thing I still remember is, when at the inn the characters were putting their shoes near bed: i don't know why, but I thought it was a lovely and cozy detail. I don't remember if I finished the game or got stuck, probably the second choice, but I enjoyed my time with that.

I like the new art more than the old one.

These were made by a different artist, I believe.

Can't agree with that. The new art looks too soft and has no personality. The old art has the playfulness but also has some hard edge to it. Like the art for Kevin is very evocative and shows his feral nature well.

I also like that the old art is traditionally made, while the new one is obviously digital. That may be my own bias towards traditional art mediums, but it gives it a different feel.
